In 1942 Charles and Frank Purley, fed up with the high cost of ice, developed a refrigeration system to keep the stock of their fresh fish shop chilled. And so Lec was born. The brand quickly became a firm favourite and today, over 60 years later, Lec refrigerators are still the appliance of choice in many UK households.
In 2005, Lec became part of Glen Dimplex Home Appliances, owner of the Stoves, Belling and New World cooking brands. GDHA’s reputation for quality and reliability is unrivalled. With an all-new range launched in March 2006, the Lec tradition continues with the support of the largest producer and supplier of kitchen appliances in the UK.
Featuring practical and stylish innovations, Lec appliances are designed to be as versatile as you are. Whether it’s capacity and durability for the family home, compact dimensions for a studio flat, or style and elegance for a modern apartment, there’s a Lec product for you.
